After installing Access Anaesthetics on a new PC you may get a message saying there is no program registered to open this file. Most likely this means that you do not have Microsoft Access on the PC. Only the 'Professional' version of Microsoft Office includes Microsoft Access. To get around this, you need to install the Access Runtime, which is available on the same webpage as the trial version of Access Anaesthetics. You can use either the 2007 or 2010 runtime, but the 2010 is a much bigger download (200 MB vs 50MB).

Runtime versions of Access 2013 and 2016 are also available, but there are some issues with these, as described here.
