What is the Runtime Version?

Access Anaesthetics is written in the Visual Basic language of Microsoft Access and it requires that the computer has Microsoft Access installed. The 'runtime' version is a special installation of Access Anaesthetics for people who do not have Microsoft Access on their computer.

If your computer does not have Microsoft Access, you can download a set of files which allow you to use the Microsoft Access to operate our Anaesthetic application. These files allow you to perform all the functions we have programmed into the system, but will not allow you to create your own databases (as the full version of Microsoft Access would allow).

The advantage of the runtime system is that you do not need to buy Microsoft Access if you don't already have it. All functions of Access Anaesthetics are available when using either the runtime or the standard Access version.

The runtime version available is either Access 2007 or 2010. If required we can also provide the 1997 version. The functions of Access Anaesthetics are identical whether you are using Access 97, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010 or whether you are using full Access or the 'runtime' version.

(Find out whether you are using the runtime version by clicking Help > About Access Anaesthetics, on any Access Anaesthetics menu.)
