Maintenance Menu

The File Management Menu has been renamed to the MAINTENANCE Menu and has been modified to incorporate a number of new and existing functions, listed separately below. When you move the mouse over each button, the details of that function are displayed.

Several existing functions have been relocated to this screen - Resize the AA window, Maintenance log, Health fund fees, Time based fees, Misc rates, Lookup tables. The links to the various functions have been reorganised into logical groups.

New Refresh table links function. This removes and recreates the links to all the data files currently attached to the program. This will enable fixing problems such as updating a user file when it it copied from one machine to another.

New Reinstall program file function. This will reinstall the latest program version from the Live Update folder. Occasionally the main program file can develop problems necessitating recompiling, compacting or other repairs. This function will effectively do all this, by replacing the existing program file with the latest file downloaded from the website or installed from a disk. This 'mint' copy of the latest program file is stored in LiveUpdate subfolder below your Access Anaesthetics folder.

A new utility called the Version Update Tool has been installed to allow you to do this copying process. This essentially remembers the locations of the various files, and can close Access Anaesthetics, replace it with a new file, open Access Anaesthetics again, and then close itself. It is used for the Reinstall program function, and also for the web and disk update functions.

The Drive Cleanup button opens a window which identifies older files which are no longer required by Access Anaesthetics. These can easily be reviewed and deleted. Snapshot files can also be easily deleted according to their age.

The File locations button shows the locations, file names and versions of all the data files currently attached to the system. These were previously shown on the main screen of the old File Management Menu.

There are several buttons marked with an asterisk (*) as placeholders for functions we are currently developing. These are the Archive data and Restore from backup functions.
