The AAQuotes system for the
PDA uses a calculated expression for the Medicare unit value. In the
initial release in 2002, this was set at $16.50. The March 2005 release
had it set at $16.85. Over time, this value is modified by the HIC and
you need to manually update it so that your schedule fee calculations
are correct.
HanDBase

Open the AAQuotes database on the
PDA.

Tap the Menu button, or tap the
AAQuotes title to open the menu.

Tap DB Properties.

Tap Fields.
-
Scroll down until you find the
field called CMBSRate(Calculated). Tap on the field name.

Tap the Configure button.

Note whether the calculation at the
top of the screen includes an old unit rate, e.g. (16.50*1). If it
is already up to date, go to step 10.

Tap the CA button to clear the
field.
-
Tap the following buttons exactly
(16.85*1) so that the field includes the correct rate. The brackets
and asterisk are essential.

Tap OK 4 times to return to the
main database screen.
SmartList To Go

Open the AAQuotes smartlist on the
PDA.

Tap the Tools button (the hammer
icon) and select Design Fields.

Scroll down until you find the
field called CMBSRate. It may be at the very bottom. Note that this
is not the field called CMBSFee.

Tap the elipsis (...) button on the
far right of the field name row.

The unit rate will be shown in the
expression box. If it is already up to date, go to step 9.

Tap Clear to clear the expression.
Tap Yes at the confirmation prompt.

Tap into the Constant field and
enter the new unit rate, e.g. 16.85.

Tap Enter. The new rate should
appear in the expression box.

Tap OK.

Tap Done to return to the main
database screen.
