On 15/9/2011, Medicare confirmed that there was a problem with retrieval of ERAs. They are not yet able to estimate when it will be fixed. Consequently AA has been modified to create a workaround for the issue and an interim version 6.74 is now available using Maintenance > Web Update.
Medicare also advised that the problem was not limited to retrieval periods of 14 days, and that it may occur with periods as short as 7 days. AA has therefore been modified to routinely search for a period of 5 days. This means that if you search for a period of 30 days, AA will break this up into 5 day periods. This should eliminate the problem of not finding ERAs when the search duration is too long.
Once you have installed this update, you should be able to use the standard <Run all transmissions> to successfully retrieve all ERAs. However, as a one-off check you should check for missing ERAs over at least the last 14 day period. To do this, click <Retrieve status> in line s6, and enter a number of days. This can be as many as you like, as AA will break it up into 5 day periods. If any are found, retrieve them using <Retrieve ERAs> in line s7. The Find Missing ERAs procedure (Tools menu) has also been adjusted to use the 5 day period, so if you need to use this, it should also get around the current problem.
On the Eclipse menu, to the left of line s6, you will notice a box containing the number 5. This is what AA uses to determine the retrieval period and can be edited if needed. We don't anticipate it will be needed, but it provides the option. Once Medicare fixes the problem, the box will be removed, and the retrieval period will be returned to the original 29 days.
